the facts of me

Excited to do this "Facts of Me" link up post with the awesome Whitney from I Wore Yoga Pants to Work. (Oh and thanks for all the engagement congrats - you're all so sweet!!)

Here are some random, fun and hopefully interesting (?) facts about me!

I'm afraid of standing on stuff you can see through, such as grates on sidewalks, steps that don't have backs (or steps that are grates, ahh!!) or any of those crazy places where you stand on glass.

The above picture is my nightmare.

Related - I am also afraid of elevators that you can see out of with glass walls. No.

When I was a child, maybe 8 or 10-ish, I used to put like an inch of sugar in a glass, fill the glass with water and drink the sugar water. I was a tiny child who didn't like to eat real food and was really into sugar and candy.

Speaking of me as a child, my mom was obsessed with perming my hair and the years from about 8 to 13 are horrendous for me.

I also got glasses when I was in the 2nd grade. Holy nerd alert - glasses and a perm!

When I was 14, my friend and I wrecked a go-cart and I broke my arm. That's what you get when all you eat is candy - brittle bones!!

Lest you think I was just a weird accident prone fatty child, I want to also let you know that I was in the honors program in college. Fancy.

My first out of college job was in London, England. I worked as a secretary/personal assistant for a commercial real estate company. I was supposed to be there for 6 months, but ended up staying for 9. About 2 months into my job, my boss pre-emptively hired my replacement. She took over my job and I played solitaire for about 4 months. She then quit, I resumed my job for 2 months and then hired my own replacement and sat and stared at the wall again until I left. It was sorta awesome but weird.

In my mind, toilet paper must be rolled over, not under.

I don't like any of my food or beverages to be too hot. I put ice cubes in my coffee and my soup.

I love singing made up songs. My faves include lyrics about my dogs being stinky. They are unamused.

I have two temperatures - freezing cold or sweating. It is rare that I am somewhere in between. I think I lack internal temperature regulation.

Linking up -

  6. Toilet paper - YES! I sometimes change it when I'm at someone's house and I see it rolled under. Also, congrats on your engagement!!! That's super exciting :)

  7. Toilet paper must be over! It drives me insane when it's rolled under. I'm still a nerdy glasses wearer. Contacts scare me. It's irrational and prevents me from wearing cute sunglasses. I really need to get over it. Newest follower here :)

  8. Totally agree about the toilet paper. I also love knowing there is someone else in the world who puts ice cubed in their soup!

  9. Um, yes to that first photo being terrifying. I'm scared of heights so adding glass you can see through to that is not a good idea, ever! Loved this post!
